Fire Safety Program
A typical presentation includes an introduction with one of our members, a demonstration of what a fireman might look like if they had to come to your house followed by a couple of the kids getting to dress up like a fireman. Buzz would then go through his fire safety talk, and this would be followed by a visit from Sparky. Sparky would then play a game with the kids and the lead instructor called Red Dot Blue Dot. This game is played with Sparky and three of the kids one for the Red Dot, one for the Blue Dot and the other to hold up pictures. The object of the game is to put a Red Dot on items in your house that your not to play with that can burn you or start a fire, and put a Blue Dot on items that you can touch or play with and not get hurt or cause a fire. After completing the game Sparky would then answer questions from the kids.
These presentations can last anywhere from 30 min. to more than an hour depending on the time restraints and if Sparky and Buzz are both used in the presentation. Presentations can be held at your School or our Station whichever is the most convenient for your class. Also whether at your School or our Station we can have one of our trucks set up to show the kids some of the tools and equipment we use to fight fires.
