November 2, 2016 10:57pmEngine Company 5 was dispatched with assisting mutual aid companies to the 400 block of Market Street (US Route 40 West) for a reported commercial structure fire with flames confirmed upon the dispatch. We unveiled our "Participating Department" certificate. Becoming just 1 of 6 out of 50 Fire Companies in Fayette County to have this recognition. It is awarded to fire companies in the Commonwealth, from the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. These companies have to show that a certain percentage of their active firefighters are certified personnel, at a minimum level of Firefighter 1.
